The lyrics fit closely with a rural location, which will be easier for us to film in as there will be less disturbances. We also like the idea of having a gothic fairytale theme running through our narrative.
Our star would be little red/ black riding hood, and she would be chased by a wolf through a forest in our video. We have thought about the possibility of filming on Halloween to create a sinister and vibrant atmosphere.
The idea of a young female being the victim (of a big bad wolf) is something we would like to challenge. The outro of the song 'we will walk away' may symbolize her coming of age and escape from the big bad wolf which chased her. We feel that the lyrics of the song give us plenty of scope to add visual symbolism including 'the alley cats' which could be black cats (traditionally symbolizing bad luck and thus fear) or 'the under[dogs]' being a reference to the bloodthirsty wolf chasing her.
In terms of editing, we feel that slow motion running could be used to fit with the pace of the song. For the lyrics 'see through' we could have layers of the video combine by changing the opacity, where our star merges with the predator chasing her. The 'hearts freezing' lyric could also be edited to visuals, which show the two characters bursting with light and becoming one.
